Okay, this past week was incredibly intense...not because of Simon's mistaken "eye-rolling" when contestant Chris Richardson (douche) mentioned the VT massacre...not because Randy said "dawg" for the ump-millionth time...not because it was "country night" and everybody pretty much sucked with the exception of Jordan, Doolittle, and suprisingly Phil...not because Paula was "too nice". No.
No, we all know why it was so intense...such a monumental, magnetic, momentous moment Wednesday night as the one and only Sanjaya Malakar was VOTED OFF Idol!!!
It was truly an awesome moment. For those who've not been tuning in, Sanjaya was this season's William Hung (the Chinese grad student who made us appreciate Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" because of his version) and it goes without saying that he should have been booted a whole lot earlier. I mean, they kicked off that jazz/crooner dude, Gina, and a lot more other contestants who ACTUALLY HAD A SHRED OF TALENT!
But Sanjaya, in retrospect, wasn't as bad as, say, that one girl that tried to scat and didn't make it (for obvious reasons). He had charisma (barely) and was basically the laughing stock of America. That's why people voted for him, I guess.
But when Seacrest announced Sanjaya was in the bottom 3, I just about flipped. But Lakeesha and Blake were in there too, so that's gonna make things interesting the next couple weeks. Gotta love sweeps!
The highlight had to be seeing Sanjaya crying his wee little heart out...what a big baby! He'll still probably be an internet/pop sensation...the wanker. Still, I'm glad America came to its senses and stopped voting for this year's Chicken Little.
(My hope is none of the following artwork will offend anyone, especially those of the Hindi faith, whose home is India...Sanjaya's of Indian descent, in case you don't know...I painted these lovely works of art with MS Paint, as always, all in gest.)
