...not been having too many great ideas here lately. Well, I take that back. Been having ideas, just not ones I'm nibbling to start. If anybody (writer, artist, etc.) would like to possibly collaborate on something, lemme know.
I know I'm no pro or nothing. I just like to come up with crazy crap and share it with the world. How OFFten can great ideas just stumble along, right?
For those interested, I like the sci-fi, horror, film noir, crime/gangster, and generally undeterminable weird sort of genres. Collaborated with some talented minds to come up with the ol' Skunk Ape epic, might as well keep it going, right?

So I was bored again today...wrote and drew out some thumbnail sketches for the next project for Igloo, tentatively titled "Boomtown '76", a neat little Old West comic centering around the old Texas town of El Paso during the spring and summer of 1876, America's Centennial.
Everybody from real Old West outlaws and gunslingers to fictional lawmen, cowboys, and schoolmarms all make an appearance in this series, a departure from the comedic, cartoony Skunk Ape.
But never fear, more Skunk Ape is to come, including the second part to "Breath of a Salesman" and possibly an animated featurette or two. It all depends on how much Flash I'm willing to learn in the next six months or so.
I've yet to start pencilling the tentatively titled "Boomtown '76"--haven't even dared come up with a good title yet, so. But it's gonna be great!

So I got a lot...I mean A LOT...of work done this weekend on the new Old West comic! Got about 15 pages, complete with thumbnails and all. It's not altogether done but I figure I've got enough for a first draft. That means I got a killer amount of kinks to iron out because those first 15 pages go fast.
I'm quite proud, considering I've really just been doing brainstorms and parts of scenes in the past couple months. I really got a bunch accomplished this weekend. It's gonna be completely different (and by completely, I mean night and day different) than Skunky or The Medievals. It's like turning the channel from Spongebob Squarepants to HBO's Deadwood, if that helps any. See, a couple weeks ago I had to make a decision on what was coming next: the zombie-apocalyptic "Route 666" or the Old West story. I think I'm on a roll with "Route 666" just as much as this one, but I figure "Boomtown" would be a nice transition, considering the sheer darkness of my zombie comic. The way I see it, they both have to be released sometime soon or I'll scrawl out my eyeballs with a kneaded eraser (kidding!)
It's either that or drink bleach, friends...ha!
Now for revision...my favorite part!
